Nest LA Parenting Program
Los Angeles, California
The Nest LA Parenting Program supports
asylum-seeking parents in the San Fernando Valley

Originally implemented for asylum-seeking parents at the US-Mexico border in Tijuana, the Nest LA Parenting Program offers Los Angeles parents critical learning and trauma-informed support through 8 weekly 1.5 hour-long sessions.
Taught by trauma-informed parent educators, the curriculum draws from research on trauma healing, emotional regulation, and nonviolent communication. Qualitative data from our Parenting Programs by our Stanford research partner showed promising benefits in parental-child interactions and parental self-efficacy.
The Nest LA Parenting Program was successfully piloted in spring of 2023 with parents from the Refugee Children Center Community.
